Unofficial Fan Art Contest of April and May (Bi-Monthly Edition!) | 04.01.2009 , 07:36 AM
1. If any artist chooses to enter, they MUST submit a sketch featuring their own work. An artist may base their drawing on pre-existing character/object/location in the Star Wars Universe (I.E. Darth Vader, Obi-Wan, Boba Fett, Slave 1, Hoth) as long as it is origional (it's their work and not copied from somewhere).

Your sketches can be set in ANY era within the Star Wars Continuity, or, if you want, it could be based off something within a timeline of your choosing (for instance, your art could feature something that came into being thousands of years after The Return of the Jedi.)

Anyone can participate in this contest, even if their art is not the best; practice makes perfect.

2. Artists cannot team up with one another (at the moment, there's too few artists as it is)

3. Artists have until 11:59PM EST 28th of May to get their sketch in. After that, the posters post their vote favorite entry (entries are constituted by a single sketch) on the voting thread that I will open upon the closing of the contest (as I cannot edit the display title of my thread at this time).

4. Artists can however, submit a sketch they've already made.

5. Entrants are allow to edit their entries as they work on it, and they are allowed to swap it out with something they've already made if they feel they cannot complete the entry they started on time... As long as the swap is made before the deadline (listed in #3 above), and as long as the alternative is origional. Once the deadline is past and the voting starts, entries cannot be changed for ANY reason.

6. On the 31st of May, the entries that receives the most votes win.

7. Sculptures are allowed in this contest as long as it is origional.

8. Be a good sport; don't throw a fit if someone submits an entry better than yours or if no body votes for your entry. Depending on the severity of bad sportsmanship (either during the entry phase, the voting phase, or both), the sore sport's entries may be disqualified. Constructive criticism on the otherhand is allowed as long as it is polite; it's not rude or snappy.

9. Anyone caught plagiarizing/stealing another person's work (whether it be here or elsewhere) will be disqualified immediately.

10. During the voting phase, contestants cannot vote for themselves; they must vote for another entry

11. In month's containing Bi-Monthly contests, entrants are permitted to work on, and submit their entries for both month's themes at once. For instance, in this bi-monthly contest (April and May), if you worked on the Jedi and Sith themes during April and got them done, you can submit both your entries during the month of April.

This is a Bi-Monthly contest; April's theme is about Jedi in action, and May's theme is about Sith in action.

This contest starts now.

Well I did something today. Tell me what you think. I'm considering removing the monster and replacing it with a sith. Perhaps it should be the ultimate catfight?

...Im not sure if I did this correctly in terms of "Jedi In action..." did you want them like in a striking pose? or like their doing something based on their "actions".......:S

if it dosent fit with this month's genre then I'll pull it out and start over..... NO ESCAPE
